Across the same price range, the chocolate muffins from Calvin's bakery can only be described as heavenly but the best cupcakes in Bangalore are from Cupcake Noggins. Imagine, red velvet and blueberry flavours get sold out everyday. Why this one time, a girl standing behind me, in a line, shouted out to book her's! Update: The shop location was such that, the cupcakes couldn't sit for long without drying, so there were smaller but fresh batches. The noon sun was also too harsh and factored in, however, all this means that you got fresher supply although it was a constrain for the owners of the shop. The new place however, is spacious, but the cupcakes are not as fresh (although the good thing is that they don't refrigerate it unlike their competitors).
Spoonful of Sugar is an expensive slice of heaven, if you consider food as your religion and pastries are like the pope to you (you don't say 'no' to the pope). But it has the yummiest, creamiest blueberry and oreo-choco pastries that I have had to date!
Step one: You get an urge to take a bite of a creamy pastry
Step two: You resist that line of thought for about an hou (ok, may be 15 mins)
Step three: An unknown power makes you walk out of your room and turn on the ignition, and transports you right inside Bangalore's best pastry shop (which in turn makes your wallet lighter)
Honourable mentions: The chocolate peanut butter is good in Happy Endings - The Chocolate Cafe. Eclairs in Cafe Noir are quite good too.
