Proximity is one of the most ruthlessly subconscious of Design tools. Closeness relates, and every expanse of negative space severs. The deliberate and exact manipulation of space is a mark of superior Design.
ART is about individualism, i.e how you make it your own distinct vision. and art is about being relevant to your society by being empathetic. That is why it is always new and to sustain it you need to many failed experiments. Art is not for art's sake, except when its time has come, it is.

The contemporary scene essentially doesn't care about: technical mastery, creative composition and even originality of content. It would be easy to say that the idea or the emotion evoked matters— but that wouldn’t be true. Instead, what matters to the contemporary art world, is the concept behind the work references cues within the culture, philosophy and other art works, present and past. The straightforward ordinary-looking works have become their common style. And, if the work is technically well-crafted, so much the better, but refined aesthetics is anathema.
Wood suitable for Furniture: The sapwood is the outermost ring of a living tree that supplies water from its roots to all the leaves of the tree, while heartwood is the central dead portion of a log of tree. Termites eat the sapwood but rarely attack the heartwood; In many of the tree species the heartwood is usually of a darker colour, and is drier, denser and harder compared to sapwood. However sapwood has a smoother finish, while heartwood usually has eyes or knots (branch nodes) in it.
Wood is a very complex material and there are many variables controlling its properties. Differences in species and natural variations in grain pattern, density and the amount of sapwood/heartwood result in a certain amount of variability in the final moisture content. Still the averages can be applied. Timber is a type of solid lumber wood that offer exceptional structural qualities, but it also lends a warmth that can only come from the deep and rich grain of solid wood.
Drying lumber, either naturally (air drying) or in a kiln is the process to lower the moisture content. As wood dries, most of its strength properties increase. However, will continue to absorb or give off moisture with changes in humidity and temperature of the surrounding air. More humid air surrounding will cause wood to expand; drier air will cause wood to contract. This movement cannot be stopped. The greatest movement is across the grain. There is very little movement along the length. Movement across the grain is also greatly influenced by how a board was sawn. Furniture moved from one part of the world to another may change enough in dimension that it must be reworked to function correctly.
1. Composite/engineered wood
Plywood is stable; it does not expand and contract like solid wood. As it is manufactured, wider pieces can be acquired. It is resistance to cracking, shrinkage, and twisting/warping, and has a general high degree of strength. Its made with alternate grain layers which gives it cumulative strength, even the sides are strong for screws. No beading needed, just sanding or slicing. It is bonded with melamine urea formaldehyde synthetic resin (IS:848:1974) and compressed by Hydraulic Hot Press with high temperature and pressure to make smooth, warp free, strong & durable quality & resistant to termite, borers, fungus.
Plywood has a tendency to bend or sag in the middle when very lengthy pieces are used. Hence whenever the length of boards exceeds 7 feet or so, using blockboard is preferred. Blockboards are stronger but on the grain side but there rest of the sides are not strong at all (cannot hold screw). This is the reason why wardrobe doors, book shelves and panels are often made using blockboards. However, neither can we be sure if there are wide gaps inside the board, nor can we be sure of its strength.
Plywood quality 3-ply, 5-ply, 13-ply
2. Solid lumber wood
Beech wood is most commonly used as a firewood because it has many oils. It does NOT have the strength or moisture resistance (400% higher high shrinkage) (relative humidity: RH) to make good furniture or other wood objects subject to high exposures of moisture.
"Man is a Tool-using animal. Weak in himself, and of small stature, he stands on a basis, at most for the flattest-soled, of some half-square foot, insecurely enough; has to straddle out his legs, lest the very wind supplant him. Feeblest of bipeds! Three quintals [hundredweights] are a crushing load for him; the steer of the meadow tosses him aloft, like a waste rag. Nevertheless he can use Tools, can devise Tools: with these the granite mountain melts into light dust before him; he kneads glowing iron, as if it were soft paste; seas are his smooth highway, winds and fire his unwearying steeds. Nowhere do you find him without Tools: without Tools he is nothing, with Tools he is all." Thomas Carlyle, Sartor Resartus
When people look at what you've built, they won't see the wonderful joints you've spent so much time and effort making. They'll see the design, which includes your choice of boards and their positioning, and they'll see the finish.
She had forgotten her body and this world; and the world had forgotten her but one-day she came to live her life.
A body is beautiful but it is not a thing of beauty; and to be human is to understands and transcend. As there is no genitalia shown, this physical body I drew could represent a young woman, a bar-dancer, a trans-sexual gender person, etc. I wanted to acknowledge a woman's potential for the gift of life so this could be a female body. In the same breath also put the focus about her mind. Hence, I wanted to use cut-outs that look like light beaming out of the head. Accepting her body and her mind, together as one, that makes her who she is. Its beautiful when we awaken, put ourself together and rise up. Its inspiring to see that.
The saddest moments are when we condemn and accept labelling ourselves, that we are of "damaged mind" or "unclean bodied". This campaign is both about our physical bodies and our mind, because practically both shape our physical world as it is. Anger, love and hurt is represented by the colour red where as wisdom, experience is represented by indigo. Hopefully, one-day when I get some clarity (and wisdom), I will be able to add indigo in the Valour campaign.
I believe its the mind, your dreams that make you a person but, as the world it is today, in India's circles that I have seen, at least, the body is equal to the mind if not more. A rape take place every 20 minutes in India but only 10% of all rapes get reported and 24% of that 10% of these cases see convictions. From bullying and torturing to other heinous crimes, this discrimination between the sexes is our ground reality and until this changes in societies, my opinion can't change about gender difference in the biological sense of the word.
I am interested in unfolding scene design, character design and image design; representing contemporary narrative strategy, narrative shot and narrative style. The flowing images, which combine aesthetics and ideology.
