ART is about individualism, i.e. how you make it your own distinct vision, and art is about being relevant to your society by being empathetic. Artists take these fragments and say, 'What can they become?' Creativity is a problem-solving process of trying out and finding relationships, by constructing together seemingly different old ideas, images, materials etc together. There has to be strong and clear justifications that lead our decisions process, as we take what we know and change it to make a new thing out of it. That is why to sustain it you need to many failed experiments. The powerful thing about a process is it creates predictability. Proximity is one of the most ruthlessly subconscious of Design tools. Closeness relates, and every expanse of negative space severs. The deliberate and exact manipulation of space is a mark of superior Design.Basic Ancient Art History / ART MOVEMENT:
Blank lines between paragraphs are a Microsoft Word artifact that are additionally widely used in onscreen text. In book typesetting, they’re a mistake… On the other hand, con artists find metaphysical meaning in a pile of bricks and can write marginally coherent prose. Art is not for art's sake, except when its time has come, it is. "Colours expand, contract and travel on the surface of a canvas. They reach out of their skins to invade each other’s territories. White expands, black contracts. Blue searches for its complimentary orange. Involuntarily, the eye starts travelling till the colours find each other. To create a feeling of expanse, I keep blue and orange far apart. The eye feels it has traversed miles when it has only moved over a few inches of canvas." Akbar Padamsee, 2010.Line Drawing Practice with Conceptualization (Planning) Task 1: Achieve visual depth (and proximity) in Drawing basic geometric still Forms / Shapes like cubes, column, orb, spear, pyramid, curvy urn-shape, organic-shape heart, spiral. Once you've painted a greyscale, it's well worth the time painting a series of value scales with every colour you use frequently. Then, if you're struggling to get the right tone in a painting, you can easily consult your value scale.
